About the Author

Douglas D. Feaver was born in 1921 in Toronto, Ontario as the only son of Charles and Margaret Feaver. He earned his B.A. in Greek at the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. in Classics from Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Feaver served for two years as an assistant professor in Classics at Yale University in New Haven, CT, then for over three decades as a professor of Classics at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.

Douglas and his wife Margaret served with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for 15 years in Kona, HI. Dr. Feaver’s role as founding dean of the College of Humanities and International Studies proved to be formative for YWAM’s University of the Nations as a whole.

His wife, Margaret Feaver, has published a book called Precious Pearls: An Inheritance of Tears and Treasures, recounting lessons from her life experiences as a young woman, wife and mother.

Douglas and Margaret Feaver live in Bethlehem, PA. They have four sons, of whom three are still living: David, in Allentown, PA; John in Oakhurst, NJ, and Peter in Durham, NC. Their daughter Ruth is their next-door neighbor in Bethlehem.
